RE: Update on applications for GFMD Civil Society Day
Dear friends,
We wanted to send you an update on results of the applications for participation in the "official" Civil Society Days of 27 and 28 October, 2008, of the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD).
The application process for participation in the Civil Society Days had closed June 30, 2008. Announcements were supposed to be made on decisions for selection of participants by August 15, 2008, but they appear to be delayed. We are forwarding you the message that applicants should have received below.
Again, we would like to remind you that MRI, together with the Philippine Working Group and other groups, are organizing the "Peoples' Global Action on Migration, Development and Human Rights", an independent civil society parallel event, from August 22 to 30, 2008. We hope that whether or not you are selected to participate in the official "Civil Society Day", you will participate in the PGA.
For information for the event, register to participate, and submit workshop proposals, see

Best wishes,
Migrants Rights International
